Ousmane Dembélé injured with France, to miss PSG’s Club World Cup opener against Atlético Madrid
French forward Ousmane Dembélé has left the France national team camp ahead of Sunday’s third-place match in the UEFA Nations League against Germany. His injury also rules him out of Paris Saint-Germain’s opening game at the Club World Cup, where they’ll face Atlético Madrid.
Muscle injury confirmed
Dembélé has suffered a quadriceps injury in his left leg, and his recovery time is expected to be around two to three weeks. He’s scheduled to undergo further medical tests this Saturday to assess the full extent of the issue, but it’s almost certain he’ll miss the match against Atlético on June 15 in Los Angeles.
That showdown with the Spanish side will be PSG’s debut in this edition of the Club World Cup, which kicks off on June 14 and runs through July 13. His availability for the second match, set for June 20 against Botafogo, is also in serious doubt.
Barcola also out, but not seriously injured
Another player who has left the Les Bleus camp is Bradley Barcola, although his situation is far less concerning. The winger returned to PSG after picking up a minor knock, but as of now, he’s still expected to feature in the Club World Cup.
