Flamengo Prepares a 'Bombshell' Move with Joao Félix for the Club World Cup
In Brazil, it has been confirmed that Flamengo has initiated contact with Joao Félix’s camp
In just a few hours, AC Milan will visit the Luigi Ferraris to face off against Genoa, looking to keep their hopes alive of qualifying for European competitions through Serie A... and avoid being forced to win the Coppa final to save a disastrous season. From the bench, barring any unexpected surprises, Joao Félix will start the game, and he already seems to have the doors of San Siro closed for next season. But not those of Brazil, as Flamengo is preparing a ‘bombshell’ move to bring him in for the Club World Cup.

Milan doesn’t count on Joao Félix
During his loan spell at Milan, Joao Félix has once again ‘deceived’ the fans who still believe he has the talent to become a star. However, after a promising start in which he even scored on his debut... Joao Félix’s shine has faded, and he has become a peripheral player under Sérgio Conceição, who even changed his system to shut the door to the starting eleven for Joao Félix.
As of today, it’s unclear whether Sérgio Conceição will remain on the Milan bench next season. But regardless of who the coach is, Milan’s management is convinced they won’t negotiate with Chelsea to make Joao Félix’s deal permanent. His last start dates back to March 30 against Napoli. That day, Kyle Walker gave him a wake-up call at halftime, and since then, he has only played 45 minutes across five matches.
Flamengo proposes a loan with a purchase obligation for Joao Félix
Since his explosive rise at Benfica, Joao Félix hasn’t managed to succeed at Atlético de Madrid, in either of his stints at Chelsea, at FC Barcelona... or now at Milan. So, it seems clear that the doors to the top clubs in Europe are beginning to close for him. That’s an opportunity Flamengo wants to seize, as they’re reportedly very interested in signing him on loan for the Club World Cup and the decisive phase of the Copa Libertadores. His addition, alongside the arrival of Jorginho as a free agent from Arsenal, would greatly boost the ambitions of the team led by Filipe Luis.
According to journalist Vene Casagrande, Flamengo would include a purchase obligation in the loan deal... and Chelsea would be thrilled to see the deal go through. Joao Félix, however, is convinced he’s still ready to continue his career in Europe, and right now, his priority is to return to Benfica to regain momentum. That said, it’s hard to imagine his original club being able to match Flamengo’s financial offer. So, if no agreement is reached, he knows he still has many years left on his contract with Chelsea. For now, Brazil is not an option for Joao Félix.
