(PHOTOS) Dembélé and Messi Share Emotional Reunion After PSG’s Rout of Inter Miami
Beyond Paris Saint-Germain’s dominant 4–0 win over Inter Miami in the 2025 Club World Cup Round of 16, one of the most touching moments came after the final whistle: the emotional reunion between Ousmane Dembélé and Lionel Messi, former FC Barcelona teammates who shared a hug, swapped shirts, and exchanged mutual admiration.
What Did Dembélé Post After the Match?
Minutes after the match, Dembélé took to social media to share a heartfelt photo with Messi in the stadium tunnel. In the image, the two smile while holding up Messi’s pink Inter Miami jersey with the iconic No. 10 on it. Alongside the photo, Dembélé wrote:
“So good to see you again, Leo. The greatest of all time… I hope you keep making history with @InterMiamiCF like you did at this Club World Cup.”
The post quickly went viral, especially among Barcelona fans, who fondly remembered the connection the two shared at the Camp Nou.
What Was the Context of the Match?
PSG controlled the game from start to finish, leaving Inter Miami with little response to the speed and pressure from Luis Enrique’s side. In the second half, with the score already decided, Dembélé came on to gain minutes after recovering from injury, while Messi played the full 90 minutes, though he had few chances to shine.

Why Was This Reunion So Meaningful?
Messi and Dembélé were teammates at Barcelona from 2017 to 2021. Although the French winger’s time at the club was marred by injuries, his close bond with Messi was well known.
