Independiente del Valle Take Control in the Second Half
The first half produced few clear opportunities. Independiente del Valle looked to extend their advantage, but Yordan Osorio stepped in to block an effort from Carlos González, while goalkeeper Neto Volpi denied a header from Mateo Carabajal.

Deportes Tolima had a great opportunity to get back into the tie through Sergio Aguayo, who received a pass from Homer Martínez but was unable to finish accurately from close range.
The match changed completely after halftime. In the 58th minute, Romero capitalized on a rebound conceded by Volpi following a header from González and fired the ball into the net to open the scoring.

Qualification became even more secure in the 79th minute. Romero played a long pass toward González, who finished with a low, angled strike to make it 2-0. The Paraguayan reached seven goals in the current edition of the Copa Libertadores.
Tolima responded five minutes later. Junior Hernández took advantage of Aldair Quintana being off his line and scored with a powerful strike to reduce the deficit.
However, any hopes of a Colombian comeback ended in stoppage time. With Tolima pushing players forward in search of another goal, Matías Perelló exploited the spaces left in defense and scored to make it 3-1.
