Musiala Causes Concern, but Bayern Confirm He Is Fine
There were some worrying moments during the Telekom Cup match between Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig. Jamal Musiala ended up lying on the pitch during the closing stages and had to leave the match after receiving attention from the medical staffs of both teams.
The images immediately caused concern, especially considering the German international’s recent injury history. However, after the match, Bayern provided a reassuring update and confirmed that the player is doing well.
Musiala Went Down After Scoring
Musiala started the match on the bench and came on during the second half as part of Bayern’s rotation.
His appearance was producing positive signs. In the 81st minute, the attacking midfielder even found the back of the net in front of the section occupied by Bayern supporters.
But just a few minutes later, the worrying moment arrived.
Musiala went down on the pitch and remained there for some time while members of the Bayern Munich and RB Leipzig medical staffs attended to him. The German eventually managed to get back to his feet and walk off the field on his own, although he appeared visibly affected by what had happened.
He was substituted in the 88th minute and was unable to finish the match.
Bayern Provide a Reassuring Update on Musiala
After the game, sporting director Max Eberl helped ease some of the concerns surrounding the player.
Eberl confirmed that Musiala is doing well and emphasized that his condition was the most important thing after the worrying scenes on the pitch.
The news comes as a major relief for Bayern.
Musiala recently went through one of the most difficult periods of his career after suffering a serious injury during the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, which kept him out of action for several months.
The German was unable to return to the field until January of this year and has gradually been working to regain the rhythm and level that made him one of the biggest stars in European soccer.
That is why any sight of Musiala requiring medical attention inevitably generates concern in Munich.
Fortunately, the initial news this time is positive.
Jamal Musiala was unable to finish the match against RB Leipzig, but Bayern Munich have confirmed that he is doing well after the scare.
