Harry Kane Threatens a Historic Record of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Champions League
The English forward of the German team is set to break a record of Cristiano
Harry Kane, game by game, makes it clear why he is the most important man for Bayern Munich. The English forward was the star in the last match, where he scored a brace in the 3-3 draw, a result that felt underwhelming after being down 2-0. A complete performance that, however, was not enough to take the three points.
450 goals and a record that threatens Cristiano
Beyond the result, the night left crazy numbers. Kane reached 450 goals as a professional, a historic figure in his career. Of the total, 154 were scored with Bayern, 280 with Tottenham, nine with Millwall, five with Leyton Orient, and two with Leicester.
In the Champions League, the Englishman has scored in nine consecutive matches. Only Cristiano Ronaldo surpasses him, with 11. Moreover, Kane has already made it into the top eight all-time scorers of the tournament: he has 57 goals, tied with Thomas Müller and ahead of Ruud van Nistelrooy (56). And he has accumulated 14 goals and five assists in 13 matches between Bayern and the English national team.
Self-criticism and the obsession with the Ballon d'Or
Still, despite his performance, Kane was not satisfied. He lamented the draw and considered that Olise's expulsion affected the match. With self-criticism, he acknowledged the poor first half and pointed out the need to correct mistakes and control emotions.
Kane keeps racking up goals, records, and arguments to aspire to the Ballon d'Or, although the draw against Viking left a bitter taste.
