The list is out! The 2025 Ballon d'Or has its 30 nominees, and the final race to the gala in Paris has officially begun. Familiar faces, big surprises, and players who gave everything this season. Who will win football’s most coveted prize?
2024 Ballon d'Or winners
In the previous edition, Rodri claimed the men's Ballon d'Or after a dominant season with Manchester City, while Aitana Bonmatí defended her title on the women’s side. Lamine Yamal was named Best Young Player with the Kopa Trophy, and Emiliano Martínez won the Yashin Trophy as Best Goalkeeper.
Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé were awarded the Gerd Müller Trophy as top scorers, while Jennifer Hermoso received the Socrates Award. Real Madrid was named Best Men’s Club, and FC Barcelona took the title of Best Women’s Club. The Best Coaches awards went to Carlo Ancelotti and Emma Hayes.
When and where is the 2025 Ballon d'Or gala?
The ceremony will take place on Monday, September 22 at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, and will be streamed live on Disney+ Premium Plan, as confirmed by the organizers. In total, 13 trophies will be awarded.
In addition to the men's and women's Ballon d'Or, the best goalkeepers, top scorers, clubs, and coaches of the year will be recognized in both men's and women's categories. For the first time, the Kopa, Yashin, and Gerd Müller trophies will also have female versions.

France Football has officially revealed the 30 nominees for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, recognizing the top footballers of the 2024/25 season. The announcement kicks off the final sprint toward the gala, which will take place in Paris on September 22, where several other individual awards will also be handed out.
The jury, made up of international journalists, will begin voting to decide the successor to Rodri, who won the award last year. The French magazine will also present the Kopa Trophy (Best Young Player), the Yashin Trophy (Best Goalkeeper), the Gerd Müller Trophy (Top Scorer), the Socrates Award (Social Impact), and the Johan Cruyff Awards for Best Coaches and Best Clubs.
