Leon and Batlle to follow Putellas through Barca exit door
Two more members of Barcelona's Champions League-winning team are leaving the club, with Mapi Leon and Ona Batlle following Alexia Putellas.
Barcelona have confirmed defensive duo Mapi Leon and Ona Batlle will depart when their contracts expire next month, following Alexia Putellas through the exit door.
Barca announced on Wednesday that two-time Ballon d'Or winner Putellas – who has won 38 major honours with the Blaugrana – was leaving as a free agent after 14 years.
Putellas, who has made 507 appearances in all competitions for the club, second only to Melanie Serrano (516), has been strongly linked with a move to the Women's Super League, with the London City Lionesses touted as a potential landing spot.
And both Leon and Batlle could also move to England, with the former another reported target for London City and the latter being linked with Arsenal.
Central defender Leon arrived from Atletico Madrid in 2017 and has played 313 games for the Catalan giants – the eighth-most of any player.
She won 27 trophies throughout nine seasons with Barca, including four Champions League titles – the most recent of which came via a 4-0 final rout of Lyon last week.
Batlle, meanwhile, came through the ranks at Barca before leaving in 2017, eventually returning on a free transfer after leaving Manchester United in 2023.
The right-back has made 114 appearances for the club and collected 12 trophies in just three years, including two Champions League crowns.
Leon and Batlle could play one last game for Barca on Sunday, as they bring the curtain down on another triumphant Liga F campaign away at Madrid CFF.
