Thomas Tuchel: "Real Madrid has a 51% Chance of Winning"
The German Thomas Tuchel, coach of Bayern Munich, didn't want to focus on "the myth of Real Madrid" or talk about it with his players, although he assured that the white team "has a 51% chance of winning" because of playing the second leg of the Champions League semifinals at the Santiago Bernabéu.
"We have to play the game. We don't talk to the players about the myth of Real Madrid, although we know it's one of the most difficult stadiums to win at; but not impossible. In the first leg, we played better and didn't win. Madrid has a 51% chance of winning because they're playing at home," said Tuchel in a press conference.
"How can I explain the myth? When I was young, I browsed books about Real Madrid's successes and Emilio Butragueño always appeared; if I stayed up to watch a final, Butragueño always came out... and that image comes to mind. It's one of the most important clubs in the world and it's going to be a magnificent semifinal. It's a gift and an obligation. We're playing a semifinal to reach the final," he added.
"We had one more day of preparation than in the first leg. We've used that time with double strategy sessions and preparing for the match against Real Madrid. Now we've just arrived and we have to enjoy it. Now each one has to listen to their inner voice and be aware of what's going to happen. Everyone had their dreams with the ball when they were little and now we've reached this moment," declared Tuchel, who entered the press room with a smile and showed sentimentality during his media appearance."
