Player Born in 1990, Mother's Death Recorded in 1986 Sparks Investigation
The scandal surrounding Guélor Kanga Kaku, midfielder for the Gabon national team and Red Star, has intensified as he was summoned for questioning by the Confederation of African Football (CAF). This comes after he claimed to have been born in 1990, yet records indicate his mother passed away in 1986.
Several media outlets are reporting conflicting information about the player's mother, who allegedly entered the world on September 1, 1990. The CAF is seeking clarification on how it's possible for him to have been born four years later, raising questions about potential age or identity falsification.
In a separate development, the Democratic Republic of Congo's Federation had previously raised concerns in 2021, suggesting that Guélor Kanga might actually be Kiaku-Kiaku Kianga, born on October 5, 1985, in Kinshasa (Congo).
If these accusations are proven true, and there is evidence of document falsification, Gabon could face sanctions according to FIFA regulations.
