Thauvin takes his chance before Lens goes down to 10

PSG looked to take control, but it was Lens that found the breakthrough in the 32nd minute.

Abdallah Sima connected with Matthieu Udol, whose delivery reached the far post, where Florian Thauvin arrived to beat Matvey Safonov and make it 1-0.

Seven minutes later, the complexion of the match changed completely.

Kyllian Antonio was sent off in the 39th minute for a heavy challenge on Maghnes Akliouche, leaving Lens with 10 men and handing PSG the initiative for the remainder of the contest.

The Parisians nearly capitalized before halftime as Désiré Doué struck the crossbar, while Lens increasingly focused on protecting its narrow advantage.

Dembélé comes on as PSG increases the pressure

Luis Enrique turned to his bench in the second half and made changes around the hour mark.

Ousmane Dembélé, Fabián Ruiz and Nuno Mendes came on in the 60th minute, with PSG pushing forward in search of an equalizer.

Dembélé added more energy to the attack and tested Robin Risser, who kept out his effort.

PSG eventually found the net through Fabián Ruiz, but his goal was ruled out for a tight offside, leaving the Parisians inches away from leveling the match.

Lens continued to withstand the pressure while defending with a man down.

Nuno Mendes sees red as PSG finishes without reward

With three minutes remaining, the match took another turn.

Nuno Mendes, who had entered as a substitute, was sent off for elbowing an opponent, reducing PSG to 10 men and restoring numerical parity.

Lens then had an opportunity to put the contest away. Matthieu Udol found the net, but his goal was also disallowed.

PSG continued to search for an equalizer until the end but could not find the breakthrough. The 1-0 victory gave Lens its first Trophée des Champions in club history and denied Luis Enrique's side a second trophy in just four days.
