The Pharaohs did not miss their captain as they cruised to a 5-0 victory over South Sudan, powered by an Omar Marmoush brace and Hamza Abdelkarim's first senior international goal.
Egypt secured its first victory in the AFCON 2027 Qualifiers after defeating South Sudan 5-0 on the road.
Without Mohamed Salah, who did not travel to Juba because of the artificial playing surface, the Pharaohs found other players to step up and put the scoreless draw against Angola in the opening matchday behind them.
Zizo and Ibrahim Adel both found the back of the net, while Omar Marmoush was one of the standout performers with a brace that put Egypt firmly in control.
With the result already secured, there was still time for one special moment.
Hamza Abdelkarim scored in the 92nd minute to make it 5-0 and celebrate his first goal for Egypt's senior national team.
The result gives Hossam Hassan's side four points from its first two Group B matches and allows the Pharaohs to close the international window with a commanding victory.
