Benin secured a 1-0 victory over Mauritania on Matchday 2 of Group F in the AFCON 2027 Qualifiers. The result moved the Cheetahs to four points from two matches, keeping them in contention near the top of the group ahead of their upcoming matchup against Argentina in Lionel Messi's farewell match.

ALOKO MAKES THE DIFFERENCE

The only goal of the match came in the 31st minute. Rodolfo Aloko received the ball after combining with Charbel Azongnitode before unleashing a long-range effort that found the bottom corner. The shot caught goalkeeper Babacar Niasse by surprise and gave Benin a 1-0 lead.
