Klarob Chases A Third Straight Win And A Bonus To Welcome His Second Child At ONE Friday Fights 171
Klarob NuiCafeboran has quietly built one of the more promising campaigns on the ONE Friday Fights roster, and this Friday, September 18, he gets to prove it on the biggest stage of his career. The Thai standout headlines ONE Friday Fights 171 against fellow Thai Sornsueknoi FA Group inside Bangkok's Lumpinee Stadium, with a two-fight winning streak and a growing family both fueling his motivation.
A Promising Campaign With Room To Grow
It's been a year since Klarob first stepped into ONE Championship, and the Thai standout has enjoyed a promising campaign so far.
The 26-year-old has won three of his four matches in the world’s largest martial arts organization, and he is riding a two-bout winning streak into the ONE Friday Fights 171 headliner.
Still, the 26-year-old knows there's more work to be done.
"I've had four fights in ONE so far. I'm fairly satisfied with my performance, but I still need to work on throwing more volume and improving my agility," he confessed.
"All three of my wins were against international fighters. Personally, I feel fighting overseas opponents is slightly easier than fighting Thais because most of them rely primarily on dangerous punch combinations.”
A Dangerous Compatriot Stands In His Way
That theory will be tested directly, as Klarob faces Thai compatriot Sornsueknoi FA Group in the main event. The 31-year-old Sornsueknoi has had a bumpy stretch recently, dropping three of his last four fights.
However, his killer instinct remains undeniable, as he has stopped Ngaopayak Adsanpatong, Petkhaowang Sor Jor Lekmuangnon, Udomlek Nupranburi, and Nuapet Torfunfarm in his ONE Championship run.
Klarob knows his opponent is dangerous and respects his skill set, but he already believes he's identified cracks in his countryman’s game.
"Sornsueknoi's biggest strengths are his heavy low kicks and body shots, which I have to watch out for. But even though he packs power, he tends to wobble and show visible reactions when he gets hit cleanly," Klarob explained.
"My biggest advantage is physical freshness, though I'm confident my power matches his. It's a very even matchup, and it will come down to who executes better on fight night. I've prepared a specific game plan for his left kick, and I think I'll handle it fine – you'll see it on the canvas.”
A Bonus Would Mean Even More This Time
Beyond chasing his third straight win and his first main event victory, Klarob has extra motivation driving him into Friday's contest. He and his wife are expecting their second child soon, and a performance bonus would go a long way toward supporting his growing family.
It wouldn't be the first time bonus money made a real difference. The last time Klarob earned one, he used part of it to help renovate his mother's grocery shop, while setting aside the rest for his own household. This time, he has his second child in mind.
"If the opportunity presents itself, I want to finish the fight as quickly as possible to chase that second bonus. I want to use it to welcome my second child and save up to build a home of our own so my family can live comfortably," Klarob said. "Getting a third straight win will boost my confidence to another level and help ensure I get regular fight offers from the promotion.”
Klarob also understands that stacking wins, particularly in highlight-reel fashion, could eventually put a life-changing contract within reach.
But for now, he's staying grounded.
"I don't want to look too far ahead just yet. I just want to keep improving and stacking wins," he continued. "If I can put together four or five more wins against top competition, then I'll start thinking about a ONE main roster contract."
