Julio César Chávez Jr., son of the legendary former world champion, is going through one of the most difficult periods of his life. After being deported from the United States, where he was facing legal problems related to false immigration documents, the former boxer was admitted to the Federal Social Rehabilitation Center (Cefereso) No. 11 in Hermosillo, Sonora.

The case has caused a stir in the boxing world and, particularly, in the Chávez family. Mauricio Sulaimán, president of the World Boxing Council (WBC), broke his silence and spoke about the difficult situation facing the former champion's family.

In statements to Excelsior, Sulaimán acknowledged that he has been in constant communication with Julio César Chávez Sr., whom he described as a man devastated by his son's situation.

“I have been talking constantly with his father. As a father, he is devastated, he is outraged by many things that have happened,” said the leader.

The WBC president called for caution and criticized speculation surrounding the case, noting that social media has fueled rumors and unfounded stories that further harm the family.

“There is a lot of misinformation, a lot of people who express opinions without knowing the facts and who only seek to hurt. It is best to wait for the authorities to clarify the situation before drawing conclusions,” he added.

A hit on the Chávez family

He was sent to the Hermosillo prison on August 18, after being extradited from the United States, where he was arrested following his fight with Jake Paul in June.
