Jones says Liverpool is 'in the s***'
Curtis Jones simply said Liverpool is "in the s***" after their humbling 4-1 Champions League defeat to PSV.
The Reds capitulated in the second half at Anfield. Guus Til put PSV, who saw their lead cancelled out by Virgil van Dijk in the first half, back ahead, before Couhaib Driouech's double capped off a memorable night for the visitor.
In the process, Liverpool was condemned to a third straight loss. The Reds have lost nine of their last 12 games across all competitions - that is the most defeats they have suffered over a 12-game spell since November 1953 to January 1954.
Jones conceded he is unsure where Liverpool goes from here, other than to keep fighting as it aims to regain some form.
"I donāt have the answers, Iām the same as everyone else," he said. "Itās unacceptable.
"I donāt even have the words. Iām past being angry or sad, Iām at the point where itās hard to find the words. Iām a fan, Iām seeing it like this.
"I havenāt experienced a team playing this bad, or results like this.
"But weāve still got this badge on our chest ā weāre always going to fight and try and get this team back to where it needs to be, and show the whole world why Liverpool is the best team in the world.
"But as of now, weāre in the s***, and it needs to change."
Liverpool has lost four of its last six home games in all competitions (W2) ā as many as its previous 69 beforehand.
The Reds sit 13th in the Champions League standings, while their focus will now turn back to the Premier League, with a trip to West Ham coming up.
