Flick hails Raphinha after Barca Supercopa triumph
Barcelona boss Hansi Flick believes that the mentality of matchwinner Raphinha helped the Blaugrana to victory in the Supercopa de Espana final against Real Madrid.
In a crazy game at Alinma Bank Stadium at King Abdullah Sport City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, Raphinha netted the winning goal in the 73rd minute for Barcelona, which also had Frenkie de Jong sent off prior to that moment for a reckless foul on Kylian Mbappe.
Raphinha had also opened the scoring nine minutes before half-time, only for his strike to spark a flurry of goals to end a dramatic 45 minutes between the two Clasico rivals.
"His mentality is impressive and we also have others, he influences the whole team," Flick said after the win.
"He missed the first opportunity but took advantage of the second and gave us confidence. We had a lot of pressure as you have seen."
There was another impressive performance up front from Lewandowski, whose dinked finish saw him score for the third game in a row in the competition.
He now has 10 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions this season, but the Poland international remains focused on helping Barcelona win as many trophies as possible.
"We're very happy, one more title, whenever we play against Madrid it's a big game," Lewandowski added.
"We played well in the first half, the second too, we looked for more goals but we won and that's the most important thing.
"Madrid played very low blocks and we are trying to find the goal area, we sometimes need a little more patience, if we cross we also have a chance to score.
"The most important thing is that we have won and we have another title."
Barcelona, which is top of LaLiga by four points, will be back in action on Friday (AEDT), with a clash against LaLiga 2 leader Racing Santander in the Round of 16 of the Copa del Rey.
