Celtic boss Nancy knows his transfer targets
Celtic boss Wilfried Nancy says he will be targeting players with "personality" during the upcoming January transfer window.
The former Columbus Crew head coach, who took charge of the Hoops earlier this month, endured a difficult start to life at Celtic Park, losing each of his first four games at the helm.
Nancy finally achieved his first win courtesy of a 3-1 success against Aberdeen last week, but Celtic still trails Scottish Premiership leader Hearts by six points.
The Frenchman will have the opportunity to strengthen his squad when the window opens next week, and he knows what to look out for.
"We have a lot of ability in terms of the way we play," Nancy said ahead of a meeting with Livingston on Sunday (AEDT). "It is important that, when you sign players, they need to have personality.
"This [Celtic] is a big club. To play here is not always easy. It is so, so important to have players who can play here at a club like this."
Nancy also gave an insight into the type of player he admires, highlighting two in his current squad.
"Everybody knows Kieran [Tierney]," he added. "I knew him before I came here. He's an important player for us. There are different kinds of personalities. Kieran is not a vocal leader, but shows on the pitch.
"Callum [McGregor] also shows on the pitch, but he's a vocal leader, too. We have other players like this. When I talk about personalities, it's not only to be vocal, it's to have the right attitude when it is difficult.
"This means when we attack, can we keep showing ourselves for each other, can we still press, or can we defend like crazy in the moment? It’s more about attitude for me. This is what I am looking for."
