Joan Garcia excited after making Barcelona move
Joan Garcia has laid out his intentions after signing with Barcelona, stating he wants to "win as much as possible" with the LaLiga champion.
Barcelona announced that it had completed the signing of Garcia from Espanyol for €25 million ($44.7 million), and the goalkeeper put pen to paper on his six-year deal this weekend.
Garcia made 146 saves in LaLiga last season, the second highest tally in Europe's top five leagues in the last campaign behind Mark Flekken, who made 153 saves.
Barcelona won the domestic treble in Hansi Flick's first season at the club, claiming the league title, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa de Espana titles, and Garcia is eyeing more success with the Blaugrana.
"I'm very happy. I've been looking forward to this day for a long time, and it's finally here," he said.
"Now I have to keep growing as a goalkeeper and win as much as possible. I'm here to achieve some great things with this team, which is why I came here.
"When there's such a young team with such good players, it's an exciting project. I know many of them, and I'm eager to get started."
