Watford win moves it close to the play-offs spots
Watford came from a goal down to beat Leicester City 2-1 at King Power Stadium, a result that saw the Hornets move to within a point of sixth-placed Bristol City on the EFL Championship table.
Jordan James had opened the scoring with just seven minutes on the clock before Othmane Maamma levelled the game with a sensational finish on the stroke of half-time.
Watford completed the turnaround through Mattie Pollock just before the hour, with Leicester unable to find an equaliser, and subsequently dropping to 13th in the standings.
"It is difficult to swallow. We started the game well and we tried to push on and get a bigger score but we conceded after a mistake," Foxes boss Marti Cifuentes said, bemonaing his side's effort in the second half.
"We spoke at half-time that we had to keep our heads up and keep pushing, but we didn't play a good second half.
"There are things we needed to change since I came here but it is not quick. But in football it is all about the next opportunity and there is no hiding. We have to do better."
Javi Gracia praised his side's resilience and said his side is starting to grow into its work in one of Europe's more challenging divisions.
"It is always difficult to play away but all the members of the team are improving. We are growing as a team," he said.
"Many people speak about solidarity and helping each other and we have to show that on the pitch.
"Today we showed a good face and the spirit we need. It means we could show our quality."
