Fatawu volley lifts Leicester to dramatic win
Abdul Fatawu scored a brilliant volley in the 94th minute as Leicester secured a 2-1 victory over West Brom in the Championship.
Jordan Ayew put the Foxes ahead after a fast start before Karlan Grant restored parity, but Fatawu's last-gasp winner condemned Ryan Mason's side to a 10th straight away defeat.
Caleb Okoli and Jeremy Monga both failed to hit the target with their early efforts, but Ayew broke the deadlock in the 17th minute. A flowing move saw Leicester cut through the West Brom defence before Jordan James' cut-back was turned home by Ayew.
However, the host side failed to build on its strong start and was pegged back shortly after the half-hour mark. West Brom skipper Alex Mowatt played Grant through on goal and the latter took a touch before curling the ball into the bottom-right corner.
The Baggies almost went ahead in the 52nd minute when his deflected attempt struck the right post, while Aune Heggebo saw his first-time effort denied by Jakub Stolarczyk.
It looked like West Brom was going to get a winner, with Samuel Iling-Junior and George Campbell both hitting the target, but Stolarczyk stood strong before Fatawu latched onto the end of Stephy Mavididi's cross, while Louis Page missed a golden chance to make it 3-1 soon after.
