Crystal Palace are in new territory as they prepare to make their first appearance in the main draw of a major European competition.

The Premier League club qualified for Europe after beating Manchester City in the FA Cup final last season, but were demoted from the Europa League to the Conference League after breaching UEFA rules on multi-club ownership.

Having come through a play-off round to reach the league phase, Palace have travelled to the Polish city of Lublin, where Ukrainian side Dynamo Kyiv have a temporary home during the ongoing conflict with Russia.

While Palace are novices on the continental stage, Glasner won the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022 before leading the German club to the Champions League knockout stage.

"Of course I always want to help and support the team as good as I can," he said.

"I always try to give my experience, not just in football, but in my life.

"It is a new opposition, new stadium, new environment. What can help us is how we approach the game and we are very confident and want to show that tomorrow."

Glasner promised more long throws from his side after the tactic helped secure a shock 2-1 win over Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday.

The south Londoners grabbed a winner deep into stoppage time when Eddie Nketiah capitalised on the havoc caused by Jefferson Lerma's long throw into the penalty area.

"We practise it (long throws), it's the chance to score a goal," Glasner said.

"The advantage over a free-kick is that there is no offside. You have to defend a bigger space. Maybe that is why it's a trend in England.

"More long throw-ins, more dangerous attacking situations and of course, we want to take advantage of it."
