The summer so far…

Confidence will be high in the Burnley camp after racking up 101 points on the way to winning the Championship by a record margin under Vincent Kompany. As for any newly promoted side, plenty of signings have been made. After strong showings on loan Jordan Beyer and Michael Obafemi have been recruited on a permanent basis. Former Southampton winger Nathan Redmond adds some much-needed Premier League experience whilst the leading scorer in last season’s UEFA Europa Conference League Zeki Amdouni looks like an intriguing prospect.

Player to watch…

Vincent Kompany has turned to former club Manchester City for promising goalkeeper James Trafford. Trafford had a starring role in England’s Euro U21 win over the summer and didn’t even concede a goal during the tournament. At 20 years old there is plenty of pressure on the shoulders of the youngster. It will be a key test to see if Trafford can thrive in the Premier League, which could be a crucial litmus test to see if Burnley can beat the drop this season.

Predicted Finish – 13^th   

After a standout season in the Championship, we are backing Burnley and Vincent Kompany to thrive in thirteenth place.  This is no longer the Burnley of long balls and defensive stability and we are predicting the Clarets to upset the odds.
