Algeria come from behind to eliminate Jordan
Algeria came from behind to beat Jordan 2-1 in Group J, ending the Asian side's World Cup campaign.
Nizar Al-Rashdan gave Jordan an early lead, but Amine Gouiri restored parity before Nadhir Benbouali struck the winner in the 82nd minute in Santa Clara.
The victory keeps Algeria's hopes of reaching the knockout stages alive ahead of their final group match against Austria in Kansas City on Saturday.
Earlier on Monday, Austria suffered a 2-0 defeat to Argentina, leaving the South Americans top of Group J with six points.
Austria and Algeria are level on three points heading into the final round of fixtures, while Jordan can no longer qualify.
Jordan will conclude their tournament against Argentina in Arlington, Texas on Saturday.
