Star Napoli duo sidelined with injuries
Napoli confirmed that both David Neres and Vanja Milinkovic-Savic will be sidelined for the club's upcoming matches due to injury.
Neres has undergone ankle surgery in London, while goalkeeper Milinkovic-Savic has a thigh strain keeping him out of action.
Antonio Conte has already dealt with plenty of injuries this season, with Kevin De Bruyne, Frank Anguissa and Amir Rrahmani among those missing out recently, while Romelu Lukaku recently returned from his thigh issue.
The Serie A holder lost 3-0 to Juventus on Monday, leading them nine points off leader Inter, while they will likely need to beat Chelsea in their final league phase match of the Champions League to reach the play-offs.
Conte's side have won just one of their last six games in all competitions, and losing two more key players will not help their title defence.
"On Monday, David Neres underwent surgery on his left ankle in London," a club statement read. "The operation was a complete success. The Napoli player will rest for a few days and will then start his rehabilitation programme.
"Vanja Milinkovic-Savic underwent medical exams at Pineta Grande Hospital, which revealed a strain of the biceps femoris in his left thigh. The keeper has already started his rehabilitation programme."
After its clash with Chelsea in europe, Napoli hosts struggling Fiorentina in Serie A before a trip to Genoa.
