Anselmi, who only replaced Vitor Bruno in January, was then relieved of his duties after Porto failed to win a game at the Club World Cup, finishing third in Group A behind Palmeiras and Inter Miami.

Both Anselmi and Bruno enjoyed just half a season in charge at the Estadio do Dragao, after Sergio Conceicao's seven-year tenure with the club ended in 2024.

Porto hopes Farioli will be able to bring stability back to the club, though he has only lasted one season in each of his last two jobs.
