'I feel at home' – Palhinha keen to stay at Tottenham next season
Joao Palhinha played a key role in Tottenham avoiding relegation, and he wants to make his move to north London permanent.
Joao Palhinha says he feels "at home" at Tottenham and wants to stay at the club.
Palhinha joined Spurs in a season-long loan from Bayern Munich in August 2025 and turned out to be their hero on the final day of the Premier League.
His goal secured a 1-0 win over Everton, ensuring Tottenham's place in the top-flight after they matched West Ham's result.
Palhinha won his team five points via goals scored in the Premier League this season; it was the joint-most by any player for Tottenham (also five for Richarlison).
"I always shared my thoughts. Since the first day I arrived, I feel at home. From the supporters, the crowd. Top club," he said.
"Who doesn't want to play for Tottenham and stay here? I have everything here, but this is like a marriage.
"What I can say to you is I would really like to be here, and I enjoy it a lot this season with this club, even being a tough season."
Tottenham have the option to make Palhinha's transfer permanent, with reports suggesting he could move to north London in a deal worth £25.9m (€30m).
Palhinha made 45 appearances for Spurs in all competitions in 2025-26, the joint-second most of any player, with 30 of those coming from the start.
He netted seven goals overall, a tally only bettered by Richarlison (12), while also getting one assist.
