Amorim take no risks with United squad's fitness
Ruben Amorim will rotate his Manchester United squad against Brentford as he does not want to take any risks with the fitness of his players.
United is enduring a tough Premier League season, sitting 14th on the table with 39 points.
It is currently winless in five league matches, a run that stretched thanks to a 1-1 draw against 10-man Bournemouth last time out.
However, it travels to Brentford on the back of a stunning 3-0 victory over Athletic Club in the UEFA Europa League semi-final first leg last week.
With the all-important second leg coming up at Old Trafford next week, Amorim noted that while the UEFA Europa League is still the priority, his side needs to put up a fight against the Bees.
"The first thing is that the players at risk of injury will not play, no matter what," Amorim said.
"For example, Noussair [Mazraoui] is at risk, and we have to manage the players. We will assess and pick the best players available.
"Then we have to be careful because we are Manchester United, and we cannot go to a game without thinking we can win this game. So, the process is going to be like that.
"It's going to be tough, but we pass so many things this year. It's one more. Let's see."
Brentford, meanwhile, still has an outside chance of claiming a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League after a 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest last week.
It is currently 11th, but only two points behind eighth-placed Fulham, which lost to Aston Villa this weekend.
A huge part of Brentford's success this season has been the partnership between Bryan Mbeumo and Yoane Wissa, and manager Thomas Frank is excited to see what other levels they can reach.
"It's been a big privilege to be involved in their development and partnership," he said. "Biggest credit to the two players.
"The way they have developed so far, why not more? No one knows what their ceiling is. It is my job to maximise the team's potential."
