Ramos nets hat-trick as PSG thrashes Montpellier
Paris Saint-Germain followed up booking its place in the UEFA Champions League final with a thumping 4-1 win over Montpellier, with Goncalo Ramos netting a hat-trick.
After its semi-final second-leg win over Arsenal, Luis Enrique made nine changes to his team, but it mattered little to the Ligue 1 champion, which cruised to victory.
Its starting line-up had an average age of 21 years and 251 days old, the youngest PSG team in the French top flight's history.
PSG had to wait until the 44th minute to take the lead at the Stade de la Mosson-Mondial 98, with Senny Mayulu rifling the ball into the roof of the net from the edge of the box.
Ramos doubled the lead four minutes after the restart, placing the ball beyond Benjamin Lecomte from Ibrahim Mbaye's cross with the aid of a deflection.
The Portuguese forward grabbed his brace from the penalty spot in the 59th minute after Desire Doue was felled by Jordan Ferri inside the area.
Montpellier was given a glimmer of hope when Tanguy Coulibaly struck the ball into the bottom corner, but Ramos restored PSG's three-goal lead little more than a minute later.
Ramos completed his hat-trick with a sensational finish, controlling Arnau Tenas's long ball forward before turning his man and rattling the ball in off the crossbar from distance.
Luis Enrique saw this thrashing as ideal preparation for PSG's huge matches coming up over the rest of May.
"I'm very satisfied. I think we did a good job," he said.
"We played with a lot of young players and we played a good game.
"It's the best way to prepare for the next few games. It's not easy playing away from home. It's also not easy because the team isn't playing for anything.
"But we had to stay focused, as we always do in a Paris Saint-Germain shirt.
"I'm happy, but we need to rest for a few days before preparing for our final league game next week."
Ramos marked his 50th appearance in Ligue 1 in brilliant fashion, and the Portugal international has now been involved in 13 top-flight goals this season (10 goals, three assists), surpassing his total from last term (11 goals, one assist).
"It's great. It's not easy to score four goals here, away from home," he said.
"We're very happy, and now it's time to make the most of it. It's always good to score a goal, but to score three is amazing."
