Castellon blows lead as Almeria levels play-off
Castellon and Almeria couldn't be separated after the first leg of their LaLiga Hypermotion promotion play-off semi-final finished in a 1-1 draw at Estadio Municipal de Castalia.
The hosts dominated for large parts of the match and went ahead just before half-time through a backheel finish from Fabrizio Brignani after an almighty scramble in the six yard-box as Ameria tried and failed to defend a corner.
But Sergio Arribas netted in the 66th minute to level matters for the visitors after a sweeping counter-attack, leaving the sides level.
It will be all to play for when the sides meet for the second leg in Almeria on Wednesday (AEST), with Las Palmas and Malaga set to start their semi-final play-off on Monday (AEST).
