Morris scores late to steal a point for Derby
Carlton Morris scored an 85th-minute equaliser to earn a barely deserved point for Derby County as it drew 1-1 with Bristol City in the EFL Championship.
The result earned the Rams their first point of the new campaign, but for much of the game it seemed the Robins would be the victors, having fired off 11 attempts to Derby's five.
But a combination of poor finishing and some good goalkeeping by Jacob Widell Zetterstrom in the Derby goal meant the visitors had to settle for a point, a disappointment having won their first two matches.
Scott Twine was again the inspiration for Bristol City, firing home a 35th-minute opener from the edge of the box after being found it acres of space as the Derby defence fell asleep.
But Morris was the saviour late on for the hosts, pouncing on the ball to fire home after a header from Joe Ward was superbly saved by Radek Vítek, but the goalkeeper was let down by his defenders, who failed to clear the danger.
Bristol sits fourth on the table after three games, while Derby moved up to 19th after the welcome breaking of its duck.
