Dortmund wallops Wolfsburg to boost UCL hopes
Borussia Dortmund thrashed Wolfsburg 4-0 in the Bundesliga to boost hopes of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Dortmund has endured a difficult campaign, but a fifth Bundesliga win from its past six matches has it in fourth spot with just two games left to play.
Fifth-place Freiburg is on the same points as Dortmund, which will be hoping for a favour from Bayer Leverkusen on Monday (AEST).
Serhou Guirassy and Karim Adeyemi were the stars of the show at Signal Iduna Park, with each of them scoring twice.
Guirassy struck after just three minutes, charging into the box and pouncing on some sloppy defending to tuck home before adding another just before the hour, capping off a superb passing move.
Substitute Adeyemi then took matters into his own hands with two goals in four minutes.
He struck in the 69th, two minutes after coming on, after a superb solo 35-metre run and then made it 4-0 with a similar effort to add further gloss to an emphatic victory for Niko Kovac's side.
Dortmund has now taken 16 points from the past six matches, more than any other Bundesliga team in that time.
Its charge has been led by Guirassy, who has scored 19 league goals this season.
