Senegal thumps Congo DR in statement win
Senegal began its 2025 Women's Africa Cup of Nations campaign with a 4-0 win over Congo DR, with all the goals scored in the first half.
Mama Diop opened the scoring in the fifth minute with a delightful lobbed finish, before Nguenar Ndiaye doubled the lead eight minutes later with a delicate finish after losing her footing in the penalty area.
Diop doubled her personal tally to make it 3-0 midway through the first half, with Ndiaye rounding out the scoring in the 40th minute with a crisp shot.
