Everton's teen star Hobson makes WSL history
Isabella Hobson came off the bench to score a record-breaking goal as Everton drew 1-1 with Arsenal in the WSL.
Everton's 16-year-old hero Hobson is the team's youngest goalscorer in 14 years and made history as the youngest scorer in WSL history with her brilliant header.
The Toffees claimed their first WSL point against Arsenal since 2012.
Arsenal had been hoping to move level on points with second-placed Chelsea and was on course to do just that when Alessia Russo scored from close range in the 80th minute.
The opener came after a glut of missed chances from the visitors, who were wasteful throughout at Walton Hall Park.
Russo should have put the game to bed in the third minute of stoppage-time, only to blaze over with the goal gaping, and the Gunners were subsequently made to pay.
Arsenal failed to clear its lines from a corner, with Hobson able to rise up and head into the back of the net.
The draw left Arsenal third on the table with 44 points, and its title hopes were ended when Manchester City beat Bristol City later in the day, thanks to a classy double from Australia international Mary Fowler.
Arsenal have scored in their last 10 games in the WSL, their longest run of games with a goal in the competition since a run of 18 last season, but the Gunners could not keep things tight at the back and ultimately paid the price.
