Formula 1® hits the streets of Baku from September 24 to 26 for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, as the 2026 calendar heads into its latter stages!

The Azerbaijan Grand Prix will take place on Saturday, September 26 instead of the usual Sunday. The schedule change was agreed with the FIA and Formula 1® to accommodate a national day in Azerbaijan, with Practice 1 and 2 on Thursday, Practice 3 and Qualifying on Friday, before the race on Saturday.

The Drivers’ Championship is also heating up, with Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli leading the way on 292 points. Teammate George Russell is second on 211, while Lewis Hamilton, Lando Norris and Charles Leclerc are among those still chasing the championship leader with eight rounds remaining.

Baku has produced a different winner in each of the past two seasons, with Max Verstappen claiming victory in 2025 after Oscar Piastri triumphed in 2024. Verstappen has won twice in Azerbaijan, while Sergio Perez also has two victories at the circuit. Red Bull has taken five wins in Baku, making them the most successful team at the venue.
