Pool stage 'irrelevant' to Hansen
The All Blacks' attentions have already turned to the Rugby World Cup knockout stages, Steve Hansen said.
New Zealand coach Steve Hansen warned his team its efforts at the Rugby World Cup so far were "irrelevant" after completing their pool stage.
The All Blacks ran in seven tries to thrash Tonga 47-9 in Newcastle on Saturday (AEDT), making it four wins from as many matches in Pool C.
With a clash against France to come in the quarter-finals, Hansen said his side's relatively comfortable run through the pool stage meant nothing.
"Whatever has happened in the last month or so is irrelevant now, it's what we turn up with in the Millennium Stadium next weekend that will determine how far we go," he said.
"We're excited about that, really excited.
"[I'm] really happy with the second half of tonight's performance. We had to work hard in the first half and put ourselves under a little bit of pressure but credit to Tonga, I thought they really came to the game and brought plenty."
The All Blacks led 14-3 at half-time at St James' Park before finally surging away after the break.
New Zealand's performances in second halves at the World Cup have been better than the first.
It has a +50 points differential in the first and +75 in the second, but Hansen denied it was a "half-time team".
"I think over the years we've proven to be a full-time team. I know we're a handy team. And we'll have to be handy next week regardless of who we play," he said.
"We've had a plan and stuck with that plan and we'll have to wait and see if that works."
