Depay stunner wins UNFP Goal of the Year
Lyon star Memphis Depay picked up the French National Professional Football players' Union (UNFP) Goal of the Year award for his breathtaking long range strike against Toulouse in March.
Depay has revived his career at since joining Lyon from Manchester United in January, with five goals and seven assists in 15 Ligue 1 appearances.
The pick of the bunch had to be his sensational strike from 45 yards in Lyon's 4-0 battering over Toulouse on 13 March (AEST).
The wondergoal earned Depay the UNFP Goal of the Year award and the 23 year-old insists there's plenty more to come.
"I'm happy that I can bring this trophy back to Lyon, but I look forward to a better year next season," he said.
"This is just the start for me. I've only been here six months, five months. I've had a difficult season."
