Dortmund beats Real Madrid to Isak signing
Alexander Isak has joined Borussia Dortmund on a long-term contract to complete a stunning rise to prominence.
Borussia Dortmund has signed highly rated Sweden international Alexander Isak from AIK.
The 17 year-old appeared set for a move to Spanish giant Real Madrid, before linking up with Tomas Tuchel's brigade of young talent for a fee in the region of $16 million.
“Alexander Isak is a hugely-talented striker, who many top clubs in Europe wanted to sign," Dortmund Sporting Director Michael Zorc said. "We are delighted that he has chosen Borussia Dortmund. Both BVB and the player himself are convinced that this transfer has great potential.”
Isak scored 10 league goals in 24 appearances for AIK during the 2017 season, before becoming Sweden’s youngest goal-scorer, against Slovakia on 13 January (AEDT).
