Gomez slams Kimmich for not being vaccinated
Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich has been slammed by the club's former striker Mario Gomez for his reluctance to get the COVID19 vaccine.
Kimmich has come under fire for his decision not to be vaccinated, after the 26 year-old explained he had not been vaccinated because he wanted further research to be conducted first.
"The stadiums are full because 60, 70 or 80% of people have been vaccinated. If everyone reacted like that, we could probably play without spectators for another year,” Gomez said.
Another Germany great, Lukas Podolski came to Kimmich's defence, with the former Arsenal and Bayern Munich forward feeling the backlash against his compatriot has been too harsh.
“Everyone can decide for themselves what to do, and I don’t understand why Joshua Kimmich is portrayed as a serious criminal,” said the 36-year-old told Bild.
