Lyon Deny Deal With Liverpool For Fekir
Lyon have strongly denied reports that a deal has been made to send Nabil Fekir to Liverpool for €65million
Lyon have catgorically denied reports that Liverpool are close to agreeing a deal to sign star forward Nabil Fekir.
Thursday saw changes in building Fekir transfer saga. Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas said that no agreement had been reached with Liverpool over a transfer fee for Fekir, and it was unlikely that any decision would be taken before the end of the World Cup.
"The transfer is at a standstill, there is no way forward," Aulas said.
"The deal will certainly not close during the World Cup and I do not think there is any change before the World Cup.
"We have not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet."
Later on Thursday, French media outlet L'Equipe reported that Lyon and Liverpool had agreed to a €65million fee for Fekir, a report Lyon have since emphatically denied.
