Lionel Messi has the chance to break Cristiano Ronaldo's Champions League group-stage goals record when Barcelona face Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday.
Cristiano shone in the group stage last season, notching an incredible 11 goals across the six games. This tally included a four-goal hail against Malmo.
Now however, his great rival Messi has the chance to break that record and write a new chapter in history.
The Argentina international has nine goals so far, from four games. The one game he missed being Barca's trip to Monchengladbach, when he was sidelined through injury.
Despite needing a hat-trick to surpass the record, Messi has shown throughout his career that nothing is impossible when it comes to him. Also add in the fact that no player has scored at least three goals in a single Champions League game more times than Messi.
The Barca star has already managed two trebles in the Champions League this season, against Celtic and Manchester City.
There is double incentive for Messi too. If he does record a hat-trick, he also moves level with Cristiano on 95 overall Champions League goals.
