Confirmed: River-Boca Copa Libertadores Final Suspended Again
CONMEBOL has agreed to Boca Juniors' request to further postpone the Copa Libertadores final second leg.
The rescheduled Copa Libertadores final second leg between River Plate and Boca Juniors has been postponed, CONMEBOL president Alejandro Dominguez has confirmed.
Boca had requested that CONMEBOL suspend the Copa Libertadores final second leg and punish River Plate after their team bus was attacked by Millonarios fans on Saturday when the match was initially supposed to take place.
In a press conference on Sunday, Dominguez admitted that Boca, having suffered injuries as a result of projectiles hitting their bus outside the Monumental stadium, were not in condition to play, and stated that a meeting will be held in CONMEBOL headquarters in Asunción, Paraguay on Tuesday, with the presidents of both clubs, to decide a new date.
