Atlético Madrid did their job and defeated Borussia Dortmund (2-1) in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Quarter-Finals. Diego Simeone's team will travel to Germany with an important advantage gained at the Metropolitano.

The Colchoneros took the lead quickly, after a mistake by goalkeeper Gregor Kobel which was capitalized by Frenchman Antoine Griezmann, who then provided an assist to Rodrigo De Paul in the 4th minute.

Griezmann showed his magic again in the 32nd minute by providing another assist, this time to Samuel Lino who scored with a right-footed shot, giving the home team a 2-0 lead, putting them with one foot in the Semifinals.

However, minutes before the end of the match, Dortmund woke up, and Ivory Coast hero in the 2023 AFCON, Sebastién Haller, appeared and scored to make it 1-2 in favor of the Germans, leaving everything open for the second leg.
