Real Madrid Lose Player for Return Leg Against Manchester City
Aurélien Tchouaméni, who played as a central defender in the match against Manchester City, will miss the return leg on Wednesday, March 17, after receiving his third yellow card of the season in the Champions League for a foul in the 2nd minute.
The Frenchman was among the four Real Madrid players at risk of suspension, along with Eduardo Camavinga, Jude Bellingham, and Vinícius Junior, and he quickly received the first card of the match.
He was cautioned for a foul on Jack Grealish, which not only resulted in Bernardo Silva's opening goal but also complicates matters for his coach, the Italian Carlo Ancelotti, ahead of the return leg.
Ancelotti opted for Tchouaméni in the center of defense instead of a traditional center-back like Nacho Fernández, an option he won't have available in Manchester for the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals.
