Ancelotti: 'To Win Champions League, Beat the Best'
After the quarter-final matchups of the 2023-24 Champions League were set and Real Madrid knew they were going to face off against perhaps the strongest team in the world right now, Manchester City, Carlo Ancelotti spoke at a press conference. He pointed out that it's going to be a tough test for both sides, but if they want to win, and if winning the Champions League is the goal, they'll have to figure out how to beat the British team.
"Here, we're confident we can do it well. Playing the second leg in Manchester doesn't bother us. Quarter-finals are always tricky. Here at Real Madrid, we're crystal clear, and if you want to win the competition, you have to beat the best," the Italian commented.
On the other hand, he also stated that City is probably the best team in the world at the moment, "It might be that City is the best team in Europe right now, I don't know, it could be. We have all the confidence in the world and we know that if we want to win the Champions League, we have to beat City," Ancelotti affirmed.
The first leg between Real Madrid and Manchester City will take place on April 9th at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, while the second leg will be played at the Etihad Stadium on April 17th.
