Chelsea is ending the season on a high note. Currently seventh, they have a chance to secure a spot in Europe for next season in the upcoming two matches.
In the press conference ahead of the game against Brighton, the Blues' manager was given a stat that puts him in a favorable position: since December 26th, only three teams (Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool) have won more matches than Chelsea in the Premier League.
Given the turbulent season Chelsea has had, with Pochettino's future always in doubt, the Argentine coach reacted by giving himself and his team a round of applause for the job well done.
"The team is doing well, in the second part of the season – in the last 26 or 27 games," Pochettino told reporters.
"If we can compete well in the last two games then there is a possibility to get into Europe, which would be amazing for us.
"If we are able to finish well and get into Europe, for sure, we can start the next season with hope to be in a better position than we were in this season."
