FC Barcelona put the rumors to rest about the goalkeeping situation at the club on Thursday by by announcing the signing of Dutch goalkeeper Jasper Cillessen.
Despite suffering a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Rostov in his last game for Ajax on Wednesday, the 27-year-old had already long been earmarked as the man to replace Claudio Bravo, who is expected to complete a move to Manchester City before the transfer window closes on September 1.
Billed as a player with 'excellent distribution and accustomed to playing with high defensive lines', Cillessen has been brought in to appease Marc Andre Ter Stegen, who had threatened to leave the LaLiga champions unless he was promised more playing time.
