Xavi Suspended for Two Matches: Available for El Clásico
The Barcelona coach will miss the matches against Las Palmas and Cádiz, but will be able to sit on the bench for the visit of the blue and red team to the Bernabéu.
The Competition Committee sanctioned Xavi Hernández, the Barcelona coach, with a two-match ban for his expulsion in the LaLiga match against Atlético Madrid.
The concern of the blue and red club about whether the coach would miss the Clásico against Real Madrid was dispelled. Xavi will miss the matches against Las Palmas and Cádiz, but will be able to sit on the bench at the Santiago Bernabéu.
The duel between Real Madrid and Barcelona will take place on April 21, a match that the blue and red team has marked on the calendar.
With a current eight-point gap in the standings, the Blaugranas aim to narrow that difference to continue fighting for LaLiga until the end.
In addition to the two-match suspension, Barcelona will have to pay a fine of 700 euros, while Xavi himself will have to face another fine of 600 euros.
