"Our player Thibaut Courtois has been successfully operated on today for a torn meniscus in his right knee under the supervision of the Real Madrid Medical Services. Courtois will begin his recovery process in the coming days," Real Madrid said in a statement.
This injury occurred as Courtois was nearing the end of his recovery from the anterior cruciate ligament tear in his left knee suffered on August 10.

Another setback just as Courtois, after seven months out, began to glimpse his return.
At the end of February, he started working with the group, alternating these sessions with individual work, prompting Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to mark the goalkeeper's return for after the international break. However, the torn meniscus in his right knee will delay his return until next season.
