Mamelodi Sundowns succumb 0-1 (0-2 aggregate) to Espreance SC in a thrilling match accompanied by an electrical storm that forced the referee to suspend the game for several minutes until the weather permitted resumption of play at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, South Africa.

After a tremendous electrical storm, action resumed in the second leg of the semifinal series with Sundowns fans hopeful of overturning the one-goal aggregate lead held by Espreance SC. However, things weren't going
as the home team had hoped, as the special guest (a goal) didn't arrive and time was running out.

Later in the second half of the match, Tunisian Raed Bouchniba appeared to extend Espreance's lead in the aggregate scoreline, putting them 1-0 up in the match at the 57th minute and 2-0 ahead on aggregate.

Sundowns tried everything, but they couldn't even find a goal to give them hope and motivation to equalize, so Espreance SC secured the series and advanced to the CAF Champions League final against Egypt's Al-Ahly.
